If I were NRM, I would also start using the national flag and beat NUP at its own game, but they are idiots. NUP candidate H.E. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu, while commencing his presidential bid, urged his supporters to use the national flag in this presidential election. As election day draws nearer, the momentum is heightening across the country. Flags are raised almost everywhere, showing the creativity of Kyagulanyi. When Kyagulanyi and Bobi Wine work together, they are difficult to beat.
Kyagulanyi is making NRM idiots scratch their heads, but who is surprised? When these idiots are puzzled by a mere tactic, an idiot remains an idiot and cannot even copy. If NRM had even tiny brains, they would adopt Kyagulanyi’s tricks and also start using the flag, because no one has a monopoly over holding the national flag. If a NUP supporter puts a flag on his or her shop and NRM supporters do the same, and people walking on the streets also do likewise, visitors from abroad would not know who is NRM and who is NUP. But now it is clear that whoever holds a flag is NUP.
Being the fools and idiots they are, I saw an NRM woman telling Museveni to instruct security operatives to stop NUP supporters from using the national flag. With Museveni being advised by people like Fulfigure, Catherine Kusasira, illiterate Eddie Kenzo, it is no wonder that security organisations such as the police and the military are beating and unlawfully arresting NUP supporters simply for holding a flag. Warning citizens against using the national flag is the lowest a state can sink. Uganda’s public officials are largely ignorant and a laughing stock.
Recently, NRM parliamentary candidate Justine Nameere complained about low turnout at NRM campaigns in Masaka. But how do you expect people to come to you after brutalising them? Kyagulanyi was in Mpigi on Saturday, and Museveni was there today. Given the way police brutalised people and even killed one person, it is difficult to attract the same people to attend an NRM candidate’s rally.
In the 1996 elections, Museveni held a rally at Kololo, and Ssemwogerere held a rally at the same venue the following day. What went wrong now? Is Museveni out of step, or is he out of line?
So when Bobi Wine tells fellow Ugandans to wear yellow, the party colour of NRM, I think Museveni and his thugs will disown yellow, and the police will start clobbering people wearing yellow T-shirts. Museveni, often called a warlord and master of violence, has been outsmarted by Bobi Wine, rendering him cowardly and brainless in the face of the world.
