The Ugandan community in Pretoria, South Africa, is preparing to host a fundraising dinner in November 2025 to support a visionary initiative: the Uganda House. This project, spearheaded by Mr. George William Ssenkubuge, Chairman of the Ugandan community, and his executive committee, is a significant step toward fostering self-reliance and community empowerment.

The Uganda House is more than just a building; it’s envisioned as a vibrant, multi-faceted hub designed to generate sustainable income and provide crucial support services. The facility, which has an estimated cost of R12 million, will feature a state-of-the-art conference center for events, a restaurant serving Ugandan cuisine, and a car wash.

The income from these ventures will be reinvested into community initiatives and support programs for those in need. This project is a testament to the proactive spirit of the Ugandan diaspora in Pretoria. By creating a self-sustaining support system, the Uganda House aims to strengthen unity, promote cultural exchange, and empower the community economically.
